2019 BIFEM welcomed eight young composers from four New Zealand universities in BIFEM’s first-ever survey of international music schools by country. Writing short works for some of our favourite Argonauts including Mauricio Carrasco, Samuel Dunscombe and Gemma Kneale - each young composer brought a sense of their kura and their whānau, but most importantly a sense of promise. Reo Hou | Future Voices NZ brought some names to watch within and beyond BIFEM.
